Mary DeStefano (b. 1982) is a Washington, DC metro-area visual artist who works primarily in acrylic, pastel, and watercolor. She was born and raised in the woods of Arkansas and is strongly influenced by her rural roots, painting primarily bold, but serene landscapes and plants. She has shown in galleries and pop-ups in New York City, Connecticut, and Arkansas, and her work has been commissioned and collected nationally. She has a BFA from Yale University, a master’s in urban planning from Hunter College, and she is currently finishing up a PhD in environmental sociology at the University of Maryland as well. She lives in Hyattsville, Maryland with her husband, two young children, and two cats.
